Objective of the workshop/seminar/activity: The visit was aimed at informing the students about the various schemes and policies of the government, organizations, Role of skill development in various fields and technological advancement made in recent time in India .
Summary/Description (max 500 words):
The Department of History and Indian Culture organized a field visit for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students to “ JAIPUR EXPO 2023” on 14th September 2023 held at Jewels Banquets and Resorts, Jaipur in the presence of Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena, Hon’ble Member of Rajya Sabha, Rajasthan. The expo commenced with the ribbon cutting ceremony and a beautiful Rajasthani performance of Kachhi Ghodi Dance. The Mega exhibition was in collaboration with G20 and Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav showcasing the handicrafts from all over India with handicraft items like crochet, block printed bedsheets,clothes, blue pottery, bamboo handicraft, stone and metal work, clay bangles, paintings, kathputli supported by various organizations and government agencies. There were stalls setup by KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission ), Ministry of tourism, Indian Oil, Geological survey of India, DRDO, ISRO etc to inform about the various works of the government and organizations for the development of various regions and technological advancement made in recent time. In the end the students were given certificates for successful participation in the event. The event was engaging, and enlightening and garnered a positive response from all the students from different schools and colleges.
Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop:
The expo educated the students about various developments in the fields of Skill Development and Training, Infrastructure, IT, Disaster Management, Health Care, and Education etc. It also made students aware of various job opportunities available in various fields.
