Vist to National Archives, 24th February, 2016

A visit to the National Archive Office, Jaipur was organized for the students of the department of History on 24th February, 2016 from 10am -1pm. This visit was also accompanied by a lecture on Archival Material and its relevance in Research that was delivered by Mr Abhimanyu Singh Arha. He talks about the archival records and their importance in rewriting history. These records have greatest historical and great potential use for the researchers in documenting and understanding the past, dealing with the present and preparing for the future. After the lecture a visit to the different processing units of the record preservation was undertaken. Preservation of records is done chemically to keep them intact. Students saw the various documents, photographs, and media reports that were displayed in the archives.
