Objective of the workshop/seminar/activity: To acquaint the students with the Hindu and religious policies of Akbar during the Mughal Period
Summary/Description (max 500 words):
A Documentary screening on Akbar from “Bharat Ek Khoj”, Episode 36 was screened for the II and IV Semester students of the Department of History on 22 Feb 2023 at 1:45 PM in the A.V.Hall. The documentary focused on the liberal Hindu and religious policies of Akbar, based on the Discovery of India by Jawaharlal Nehru, this film provided a visual and deep insight on the background of Akbar, policy and its implications on the consolidations of the Mughal empire. This film was followed by a group discussion initiated by Prof. Sharad Rathore, in which the students participated actively and shared their views on the topic. It was an enriching experience and the students learned & enjoyed a lot.
