Course Objectives:
This course equips students with an understanding of socio-economic and political trends in colonial India from the latter 19th century. They critically analyze pivotal events in the national movement and the Gandhian era, foundational for the modern Indian state. Additionally, students examine the intricate developments culminating in partition and independence. Through this study, students gain insight into the multifaceted processes that shaped India's journey towards nationhood.
