This course equips students to identify the development of community and caste during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, elucidate the diverse trends within socio-religious reform movements in India, and familiarize themselves with the expansion of modern education, the press, and the emergence of the middle and capitalist classes, understanding their pivotal roles in instigating societal shifts.
