Theories and Methods of History |
The students will be able to - CO41- Develop an understanding the Meaning, Nature and scope of History. CO42- Analyse the historical Fact and its Interpretation in History CO43- Demonstrate historical concepts such as facts, causation, generalization, individual in history and the question of objectivity and subjectivity in history to understand various dimensions of human past. CO44- Critically Analyze the various theories of History – Cyclical with special reference to Spengler and Toynbee. CO45 – Develop an understanding on the various Linear Theories of History such as Christian, Marx, Hegel and Acton. |
Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments, Power Point Presentation
Learning activities for the students: Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, Seminar presentation, Giving tasks. |

Positivism and Idealism
