The course studies some of the most significant aspects of the Indian economy under British rule from the mid-18th to the mid-19th century.
It introduces students to fundamental economic changes that were brought about by colonialism during this period in the world of agriculture, weaving, trade and finance and labour.
It acquaints the students with the economic policies of the Britishers along with the land revenue arrangements , Industrialisation ,Free trade, Tariff and policy of discriminatory protection.
