How to write a Research Paper

The Department of History organized a Guest lecture on How to write a research paper for the History department students on 23rd January 2019. The Guest Speaker on this occasion was - Dr Neekee Chaturvedi, Associate Professor, Department of History, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Prof. Sharad Rathore, Head of Department of History introduced the speaker and talked about the importance to known how to write a good research paper in history ,which would help in the preparation of their Project work and she also talks the  research process is an important first step of research and will help in  better understanding the subject.

 In his lecture Dr Chaturvedi provided the students with a basic structure for writing a good research paper. She discussed the relevance of a good title that conveys a very good idea about the contents of the paper.  She then, highlighted the different steps involved in organizing the collected material thematically, making an Index, chapterisation ,etc. However, she also pointed out that the sources are very important especially going to the primary sources  and topic should have significance for the discipline and conventions of research writing in history requirement using past tense, chronological arrangement and most important in research paper is pointed research questions and objectives of research .
