A guest lecture on “Archival Primary Sources and its use in Research” by Dr. Rima Hooja was organized for the all students of the Department of History on 12th March, 2016 between 12-1:45 in the Srijan hall. Dr Hooja discussed the nitty- gritty of Research methodology through a power point presentation. She guided the students with the basics of research and also about the methodical approach –which included identification of the broad area of work, selection of the topic, good bibliography etc. She also conducted a hands-on research identification exercise by dividing the students in five groups and giving them primary source to identify key issues and then reflect in a participative mode. The students learnt and reflected with enthusiasm. This session enabled the students to use the digitalized primary archival sources of the Rajasthan State Archives Bikaner to write the research projects. The lecture ended with a vote of thanks that was delivered by Ms. Aishwarya Sharma Sem VI.
