The Department of History and Indian Culture organized an engaging Power Point Presentation session in collaboration with Indian Knowledge System (IKS) on 7th March 2025 at 1:00 PM in the AV Hall. The event was conducted for the B.A / B.A (Hons) / B.A-B.Ed II Year students, on   “The Forgotten Heroes of India” — a theme chosen to rekindle interest of the youth in the contribution of lesser-known personalities who have significantly shaped India’s historical and cultural landscape.

The session began with address by the Head of the Department, who emphasized the importance of revisiting India’s rich past and acknowledging the figures who remain absent from mainstream historical narratives despite their significant roles..

Following the introduction, students presented their well-researched PowerPoint presentations on a wide array of forgotten heroes. These included unsung freedom fighters, social reformers, and cultural icons from various regions of India. Each presentation was supported by historical references, visuals, and personal reflections, making the session highly engaging and informative. Overall, the session was a great success, achieving its aim of encouraging critical historical inquiry and honouring the memory of India’s forgotten heroes.
