Objective of the Programme:
The objective of the orientation programme was to welcome the new students to the department of History. It was also aimed to familiarize them with the course structure and develop an understanding about the credit system, examination scheme, programme objectives, department activities, department culture, best practices of the department as well as to bridge the gap between students and faculty.
Summary/Description:
The Orientation for new students of UG Semester I was organized by the Department of History on 6th September 2022 in the AV Hall at 02:30 pm. The objective of the programme was to familiarize the students with course structure, credits,examination scheme, department activities etc. Prof Sharad Rathore made a detailed presentation focusing on the faculty profile, credit system, departmental activities,Programme and Learning outcomes of the course etc. Afterwards, Dr. Monisha Raj provided the details of the Departmental website and Microsoft teams and other relevant aspects of the department.by demonstrating its access. Dr. Sonal Jain ,Librarian of the University also made her detail presentation on library and E- library. Dr. Jain acquainted the students with use of e-library and also showed how to access e books and journals for their research for the projects. It was followed by an interactive session with notable alumnae of the Department Karishma Kavi(RAS) who shared her experience and preparation strategiesfor clearing Civil Services with the students. She advised them to be focused in class, take notes and revise to get success in all exams.
Fifty-nine students attended the Orientation session. In the end there was an interactive session. All the queries of the students were answered by Prof. Sharad Rathore. After completion of the Orientation session the students filled the feedback form.
Outcome of the Programme
Students were enriched with the details of the department, the course structure, time table ,the credit system as well as about the e-library and its easy access. They were happy and satisfied and interacted with faculty and were comfortable with their choice of Subject History .
