The objective of the orientation programme was to welcome the new students to the Department of History and Indian Culture. It was also aimed to familiarize them with the course structure and develop an understanding about the credit system, examination scheme, programme objectives, department activities, department culture, best practices of the department as well as to bridge the gap between students and faculty.
The Orientation for new students of UG Semester I was organized by the Department of History and Indian Culture for both UG and PG on 23th August 2024 in the AV Hall at 09:30 am. The objective of the programme was to familiarize the students with course structure, credits ,examination scheme and the department activities as well as with the functioning of the department. Prof Sharad Rathore made a detailed presentation focusing on the faculty profile, credit system, departmental activities, Programme and Learning outcomes of the course etc. Afterwards, she also acquainted the students with the Departmental website and e-library and also showed how to access e books and journals for research for the projects. The students of semester III and V put up a cultural show for the same. In the end there was an interactive session in which all the queries of the students were answered by Prof. Sharad Rathore. After completion of the Orientation session the students filled the feedback form. 40 students attended the Orientation session
The students were acquainted with the faculties members of the department, the course structure, examination pattern and credit system and evaluation. They were informed about the activities of the department, library, e-resources and other facilities of the department. They interacted with faculty and were satisfied and comfortable with their choice of History and Indian Culture as their elective.
