Objective:

This course empowers students to explore diverse historical sources for understanding life during the eleventh to fourteenth centuries. They will discuss the array of available sources that shed light on various aspects of this era. Additionally, students will evaluate the process and consolidation of the Delhi Sultanate, analyzing its establishment and evolution. Furthermore, they will critically assess the reign of Ala-ud-din Khilji, examining his significant reforms in market control, land, and military spheres. Through this multifaceted examination, students gain insight into the complexities of medieval Indian history.
