Course Objectives:

This course will enable the students -

  1. To understand the contemporary institutions, politics culture in Medieval India
  2. To understand the origin, evolution and decline of the Delhi Sultanate with particular emphasis on imperial policies and administrative innovations.
  3.  To study the rise of provincial kingdom like Bahmani and Vijaynagar Empire .

History of Delhi Sultanate

The students will be able –

CO25-To acquaint the students with the sources of the History of Delhi Sultanate.

CO26-To understand the process of Turkish Invasions leading to the foundation of Delhi Sultanate.

CO27-To comprehend the Political History of the dynasties that ruled over Delhi along with their administrative policies, innovations and Reforms.

CO28-To understand the rise of provincial Kingdoms during the rule of Delhi Sultanate.

CO29-To analyse the socio-economic and cultural developments during the sultanate period along with the decline of the Delhi Sultanate.
