HISTORY AND CULTURE OF RAJASTHAN (Generic Elective )
Course Objectives:
This course will enable the students -
- To comprehend the History and rich cultural past of the state of Rajasthan
- To understand about the dynasties and clans that ruled and provided security in the region and enriched the culture through their patronage.
- To acquaint the students with the development of religious beliefs of the people in the Ancien t and Medieval times
- To deepen the knowledge about the development of folk culture,art,paintings, handicrafts and Costumes of the state .

Students will be able to: CO1: Examine the Ancient civilization of rajasthan and know about the sources opf rajasthan history CO2: Understand the political history of rajasthan with a focus on the dynasties, rulers, cultural achievements and resistance to the muslim power. CO3: Develop an understanding about thefolk gods, Bhakti and Sufi movement. CO4: Analyse the significance of the Revolt of 1857, Peasant and Tribal and Prajamandal Movements CO5: Develop an understanding of the folk Culture, Costumes and Handicrafts of the state. |
